Val Robles

Bio

Val Robles (she/her) is a fantasy-horror author. She is currently preparing to go on submission, and is represented by Alex Brown at Mad Woman Literary Agency. As a Mexican immigrant, Val spends most of her days combining her Mexican culture with her horror/romantasy books. If a book features a bloodthirsty queer Mexican girl and a faustian bargain of sorts, you can bet Val probably wrote it! When she's not writing, she spends her time decoding Taylor Swift lyrics and collecting vinyl records.

Val is passionate about uplifting queer, Latinx voices— as this community is often underrepresented in publishing spaces. Val is open to mentoring both Young Adult and Adult writers with a specialty in horror and fantasy.

Some of Val’s hyper-specific requests:

— Queer Horror!

— ANYTHING involving vampires!

— Doomed lovers in every afterlife.

— A Macbeth retelling— especially if it’s centered around Lady Macbeth.

— Monster girls who strike faustian bargains.

— Latinx-Immigrant representation!
